Thanks to everybody who gave me advice, help and guidance in my search. I am so delighted to have discovered a relative after years of thinking that I had no family.

Hi everyone, I was baptised at the Congregational Church in March 1928. For many years I had a small cutting out of a paper, could have bean the guardian, it was brown with age and had creases (like my wrinkles) I didn't know I had, until I had a cataract done last December. I asked the Dr (consultant) had he put H D in my eye but I can see so good I am having the other eye done soon. Sorry for going on so, all I wanted to say was about my baptisem. , cheers Jean.

Hi Jean, I found your info re your Baptism at the Congregational Church to be very interesting, the only things that i have of my mother's are her Bible, presented to her from the Congregational Church and her Confirmation Book with inscription dated 1922. I obviously thought that the Confirmation took place at the Congregational Church. During my search for the records (which I never found) I was advised by Terry Birkinhead, secretary of UR Church that my mother could not have been Confirmed at Congregational Church as this is not part of their tradition. I never thought to check for Baptism details, you have spurred me on again, thanks. Good luck with the cataract operations.

Hi Sheila, thanks. I'm not very good at all these things, like familly records ect. I wish I was but I just rememberd about the cutting of my baptisem. Sometimes little things mean something to someone. I don't know why I was baptised at the Congregational Church as I lived on the trees estate. The only reason I think can be my grandfather, David Lewis, was inspector of police in Earlestown but I thought he was there well before I was born but again I'm not sure.
