I'd like all to know that Judith Cooling from Spain (see earlier post) has made contact with us. We are delighted that this has happened and the whole family is now in contact. There have been some emotional times but all is good. Thanks to this site long lost family members have found each other at last. Smile

Well, where to begin.
My Mums family were the Twist's and as far as I can remember they lived in Cherry Street, the old one. Edith married Arthur Charnock and they lived in Cherry Street, but eventually emmigrated to Canada back in the early 60's. We moved back a few times and I remember at one point living with the Rattigans, again in Cherry street.
My name is Graham and have an older brother named William and an older sister name Pat.
I did attend Lyme Street Infants school for a short while and then Manor School.
I've enjoyed a quick look at this site and it's "Top Notch" in my books.
I've lived in Canada now since 1974, the memories are starting to fade, but I'll always call Earlestown my home.

Her parents names are Ann and Frank Wheeler. I would love to learn more about my great grandparents and my grandmother's early years.

HI Patricia

I lived at 74 Borron Road and I think you lived on the corner of BOrron Road and I forget the name of the other road but it runs into Davies Avenue at the other end. Ged Hope used t live in the first brick house on that street. We lived in prefabs. I knew your family, Sean (one year older than me) then you or Elizabeth. There were older twin sisters but they were much older than Sean and me. We went to St Mary’s and St John’s school and Sean and I went to St Aelred’s. I believe Sean is still in Spain. Your dad walked with a limp I seem to recall. If this is you and this is your family I would love to hear from you. Are you still in Sydney and if so where. I lived in Wollongong for six years 98 – 04 prior to moving to Melbourne. I was in contact with one of your sisters about five years ago – I think she lived just south of Brisbane (possibly Burleigh Heads), but I moved jobs and lost my contact list.

If it is you I was in contact with please reply as I enjoyed our emails. You told me about Steve Whitecunis I think.

We went to the cricket club and Vic's. How are you? are you still in the car business or have you changed? Where are you living now. My family andI are in Melbourne.

I attended the Newton Junior Tech school from 1950-52 in the S Class. In recent years I along with other former classmates have managed to trace the majority of the class and we now have regular re unions. There are still a few people we have as yet not located. Ged Garty who lived in Queens Drive, Alf Dover and Malcolm Blackburn. It would be great to find all the class. Sadly several are no longer with us but the vast majority are alive and kicking. Most have done very well in life, a testimony to a great school which provided much talent to the likes of the Vulcan, Vickers and many other engineering companies in the area. If anyone can help in locatimg these old pals we would be very grateful.

Some one asked about the fire at the Viduct works in the 60's. My Dad worked there and was a volunteer fire man. We had a fire bell in the house which never went off until the night of that fire. I don't remember anything about the fire only that my Dad was gone a long time.
